RIVID FUEL

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 20, 2026

In short: Rivid Fuel is designed to keep your food log on your device. The app does not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use its core food-logging features. When you scan a barcode, only the barcode number is sent to the food databases that look it up.

1. Information you enter into the app

Rivid Fuel lets you log the foods and drinks you have at each meal, with their servings, serving sizes, and nutrition (calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fat, plus any other values you choose to track, such as iron or fiber). It also keeps any notes you write about a food or a day, the home meals (recipes) you save, and the meals and tracked values you set up in Settings. This information is stored locally by the app on your device so that you can use the app and maintain your food history.

2. Personal information

Rivid Fuel does not require an account, name, email address, phone number, or other personal information to use its core features. We do not intentionally collect your food log for our own servers or maintain a user profile for you.

3. Internet access

The core food-logging functions of Rivid Fuel are designed to work without an internet connection. The app connects to the internet when you scan a barcode (see section 4), and it may open external web pages when you choose to access support, privacy, terms, or other linked resources. Visiting those external resources is subject to the policies of the services that host them.

4. Barcode scanning and the camera

Scanning a barcode is optional. When you choose to scan, Rivid Fuel asks for permission to use your device's camera. The camera image is used on your device only to read the barcode; Rivid Fuel does not save, record, or send camera images or video. You can turn camera access off at any time in your device's settings and type a barcode number instead.

To look up a barcode, the app sends only the barcode number to Open Food Facts and, if the product isn't found there, to USDA FoodData Central (U.S. Department of Agriculture). It does not send your food log, the meal you're logging, your name, or any account information. As with any internet request, these services receive technical information such as your device's IP address and the app's name and version, and they handle it under their own privacy policies: Open Food Facts and USDA. A barcode you've scanned before is filled in from your own food history on your device, without a lookup.

The food details returned, and the barcode itself, are saved only on your device with the entry you log, and are included in your backups.

5. Purchases and licensing

Rivid Fuel may offer a paid lifetime entitlement or other purchase options. Purchases are processed through the applicable platform's store, such as Apple App Store or Google Play. The platform may process information necessary to complete and manage the transaction under its own privacy policies. Rivid Fuel does not receive your payment-card information.

6. Backup and restore

Rivid Fuel provides backup and restore functionality for your food log (including your tracked values, meals, home meals, and notes), and a Fuel Journal you can print or save as a PDF. When you export, print, or share a backup or journal, the resulting file or printout is handled by you and by any operating-system or third-party service you choose to use for that file. We do not receive a copy merely because you create or restore a backup or create a journal.

7. Analytics, advertising, and tracking

Rivid Fuel is not designed around advertising or behavioral tracking. We do not use your food history to build an advertising profile.

8. Children's privacy

Rivid Fuel is not directed specifically to children. We do not knowingly request personal information from children through the app.

9. Third-party services

The mobile platform and its app-store services may collect or process information independently of Rivid Fuel. The food databases used for barcode lookups (section 4) receive the barcode numbers you scan. Their handling of information is governed by their respective privacy policies and terms.

10. Data security

No software or device-storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should use the device security and backup practices appropriate for your circumstances.

11. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the app, its services, or applicable requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when a revised policy is published.
