RIVID FUEL
Tips & Features
What Rivid Fuel can do, and where to find it. Many of the most useful features are a swipe or a tap away.
Logging Food
- Add to a meal
- Tap + on a meal to add a food or drink to it. The floating + button picks the meal for the time of day.
- Scan a barcode
- Tap the barcode button next to the food name and scan the package: its name, serving, and nutrition fill in from Open Food Facts or USDA FoodData Central. Foods you've scanned before come from your own history.
- Foods you've had before
- Start typing a name and pick a suggestion: its serving size and macros fill in from the last time you had it.
- Calories from macros
- Leave kcal empty and it's worked out from the protein, carbs, and fat (4, 4, and 9 kcal per gram).
- Servings
- Enter the nutrition for one serving, then how many servings you had. The totals multiply for you.
- Track more than macros
- Add values like iron, vitamin C, or fiber with their unit (mg, mcg, g) under Settings → Tracked Values. Each one is asked for per serving when you add a food, beside the macros.
- Notes on a food
- Write a note when you add or edit a food (where you ate, how it sat with you). It shows under the item, on the Foods tab, and on the Notes tab.
Home Meals
- Work out a home meal
- Tap the calculator at the top of the Today tab, then New Home Meal. Add each ingredient (type it, pick a food you've had, or scan it) and how many servings the dish makes: one serving's calories, macros, and tracked values are worked out for you. After saving a new one, choose Log It to add a serving to today, all filled in and ready for Done.
- Log a serving
- When you add a food, start typing the home meal's name and pick it: one serving fills in, as the meal is saved now. A home meal's name is kept for it, so a food typed in by hand can't use it.
- Change a recipe
- On the Home Meals page, tap a meal to change its ingredients or servings, or tap the bin to delete it. When you save a change, you're asked whether to update the foods already logged from it (the servings you had stay), or keep them as logged. Update Logged brings every home meal's logged foods up to date at any time.
Your Day
- Totals and macro split
- The top of the day shows your calories, grams of protein, carbs, and fat, each macro's share of the calories, and the day's total of each value you track.
- Move between days
- Use ‹ and › beside the date to see other days, and Go to today to come back. You can plan up to tomorrow.
- Edit or delete
- Tap an item to change it or move it to another meal. Swipe left on it to delete it.
- Your own meals
- Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are always there. Under Settings → Meals, add your own (a mid-morning meal, pre-workout) before, between, or after them, and use the arrows to move them. Snacks is one too: rename, move, or delete it. Deleting a meal moves its items to the meal before it.
- Day note
- Below the meals, tap Day Note to write about the whole day (a travel day, a long run). Clear the text to delete it.
Repeat Meals
- Copy a meal
- An empty meal offers to copy the same meal from the last day you had it, in one tap.
- Copy from an older day
- An empty meal also offers Copy from an older day…: pick any recent day's meal, with its foods and totals, to copy. The Days picker sets how far back it looks.
- Copy a food to today
- Swipe right on an item from another day to copy it to today. On today, it duplicates the item.
History
- Every day you've logged
- The History tab lists each day with its calories, macros, and tracked values, newest first, with your daily average.
- See a day's details
- Tap a day to open it: every meal and item, ready to edit or copy.
- How far back
- Choose how many past days History shows with the Days picker.
- Search your days
- Tap the search icon in the title bar to find the days with a food, a meal, or a note that matches, or by day or date ("Monday", "Oct 4").
Your Foods
- Every time you had a food
- On the Foods tab, pick a food to see each time you had it, newest first, with its totals and average calories. Tap one to open that day.
- Copy it to any day
- On the Foods tab, swipe right on a time you had a food to copy it to any day and meal.
- Search your foods
- Tap the search icon in the title bar to narrow the foods to pick from by name, or by the meal or notes of a time you had them.
Notes
- All your notes
- The Notes tab lists every day note and food note, newest first. Use Day Notes or Food Notes to see only one kind, and + to write today's note.
- Search your notes
- Tap the search icon in the title bar to find notes by their text, the food or meal they're about, or the day or date.
- Change or delete a note
- Tap a day note to change it; tapping a food note opens its day, where you edit the food. Swipe right to open the day, left to delete the note (the food stays).
Your Data
- Fuel journal
- In Settings, tap Create next to Fuel Journal and pick a date range. It starts with your totals, daily average and most eaten foods, then every day with its meals, including the values you track. Print it, or save it as a PDF.
- Back up your data
- Export your food log, including your tracked values, meals, home meals, and notes, to a file in Settings at any time, and restore it whenever you need to.
- Private and offline
- No account and no tracking: your food log stays on your device and works without an internet connection. Only a scanned barcode is looked up online.
